What do Hollywood Walk of Fame stars and Michelin stars have in common? Leading ladies Valerie Bertinelli and Alex Guarnaschelli, of course! Bertinelli’s two-time Golden Globe Award-winning personality now charms on Food Network’s Valerie’s Home Cooking, while Guarnaschelli’s Michelin-starred training in France helped mold the tenacious expert we enjoy today on Chopped. They are joining forces to host more than 30 of the nation’s greatest chefs serving up dishes originating from various regions of Italy as guests enjoy a live musical performance by soft-rock hit makers Little River Band, presented by Magic City Casino. Known as one of Australia's most popular rock bands, the Little River band has 10 top 20 songs on U.S. Billboard charts, including 'Reminiscing', 'Cool Change', and 'Lady'. You can peruse Piedmont, trot through Tuscany, savor Sardinia, canvas Campania, saunter through Sicily, and more - while sinking your toes into the sparkling white sands of South Beach. Whether you prefer a traditional spaghetti and meatballs or a cooler antipasto-style pasta salad or a savory perciatelli and chicken, this is a celebration not to be missed. Grab your friends and gather ‘round under our signature white tents in the sand for a feast of the ages, all complemented by pours from curated wine selections. Join Riedel Crystal for an educational and entertaining program that will change your wine life forever! In a unique and fascinating wine glass tasting, Anne Koziara, Vice President of On Premise Sales, will demonstrate the relationship between the shape of a glass and our perception and enjoyment of wines. To fully appreciate the personality of different grape varietals and the subtle character of wines, it is essential to have an appropriately fine tuned glass shape. The shape is responsible for the flow of the wine and consequently where it touches the various taste zones of the tongue. The initial point of contact depends on the shape and volume of the glass, the diameter of the rim, and its finish (whether it is cut and polished or rolled edge) as well as the thickness of the crystal. As you put your wine glass to your lips, your taste buds are on alert. Once the tongue is in contact with the wine, three messages are transmitted at the same time: temperature, texture and taste. Wine is composed of different elements: fruit, acidity, mineral components, tannin and alcohol. The combination between the sense of smell and taste leads into the wonderful world of flavour. It is the glass shape which is responsible for balance and harmony of flavors. RIEDEL was first to discover the concept: ”The content commands the shape!” Featured Stemware: Veritas Red & White Tasting Set (which includes 4 glasses): • Riesling • Oaked Chardonnay • Old World Pinot Noir • Cabernet Featured Wines: 2015 MATUA Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough, New Zealand 2014 Beringer Luminus Chardonnay, Oak Knoll District, Napa Valley 2014 Etude Grace Benoist Ranch Estate Pinot Noir, Carneros 2013 Stags’ Leap Winery Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley

In this seminar, three winemakers will share their wines to showcase Pinot Noir as a reflection of three important growing regions: Burgundy, California and Oregon. Winemaking choices notwithstanding, there are significant differences in the taste profiles, textures and structures of the wines.  Alex Sokol-Blosser, Winemaker and Co-President of Sokol Blosser Winery, Brian Loring of Loring Wine Company in California, and Alex Gambal of Maison Alex Gambal in Burgundy will be presenting their wines and discussing how each reflects the individual vineyard/appellation/region, their desired style of wine and how they achieve it in the vineyard/cellar. The overall goal is to leave the seminar attendees with clear taste profiles of the 3 different regions. Featured Wines:

Surf’s up for this one as restaurateur, author, and popular Food Network star Robert Irvine hosts an evening of Polynesian flare with Tiki-inspired cocktails from across the country. Once again, guests will enjoy an artful display of libations at the hip and trendy Surfcomber boutique hotel. We’ve invited some of the best bartenders and highly regarded Tiki joints across the country to face-off and compete to be crowned Tiki-King or Tiki-Queen. Irvine, who recently announced his own concept at Tropicana in Las Vegas, will join an esteemed panel of judges, to evaluate the contestants’ cocktails featuring Rhum Barbancourt, while you sample all of the creations and enjoy light Polynesian-inspired bites. Tiki is more than a drink, it's a subculture enjoying a resurgence in popularity with bartenders across America and we’re bringing it back to the beach -- to South Beach!

A la recherche de l'oeuvre *In pursuit of the ultimate* Since its founding in 1776, the House of Champagne Louis Roederer has been synonymous with the world's great Champagnes. The Louis Roederer experience is defined first and foremost by the art of champagne making. Such artistry can only be attained when it begins with this kind of uncompromising commitment to the individual vines, where the essence of the final product begins to develop. With over 70% of the grapes coming from its own estate vineyards, and the largest percentage of vineyard ownership of any major Champagne house, Louis Roederer is proud to have such careful control over the quality of its grapes. To enhance the winemaking process and ensure consistent quality and complex flavors, every good vintage year some of the very best wines are aged in large oak casks located in Roederer's reserve wine cellar. The three distinct soil types on the property produce different single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignons. The light ash soil of Volcanic Hill is in sharp contrast to the iron rich Red Rock Terrace and the pebbly Gravelly Meadow. Each year the estate produces a small amount of long-lived, elegant wines with great depth and richness that are revered by connoisseurs the world over.

Founded in 1988, Patz & Hall was one of the first California wineries to recognize America’s emerging appreciation for great site-specific wines, and played a pivotal role in bringing these acclaimed vineyard-designate Chardonnays and Pinots to a wider audience of enthusiasts. To achieve this, Patz & Hall’s four founders—Donald Patz, James Hall, Anne Moses and Heather Patz—established a unique model, seeking out California’s greatest vineyards, regardless of appellation, and building rich, collaborative relationships with the gifted winegrowers who cultivate these Grand Cru-caliber sites. In many cases, Patz & Hall has been partnering with these growers for decades. In fact, special blocks have been planted exclusively for Patz & Hall at vineyards like Hyde, Alder Springs and Chenoweth Ranch. At other sites, such as Dutton Ranch, Pisoni and Hudson, Patz & Hall works with the most coveted old-vine blocks, or even shares blocks with the owners themselves. From these famed vineyards, Patz & Hall makes some of the New World’s most stirring and sought-after single-vineyard Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs—wines that have become benchmarks for their intensity, elegance and complexity. Featured Wines: 2015 Dutton Ranch – Russian River Valley Chardonnay 2014 Hyde Vineyard – Carneros Chardonnay 2014 Alder Springs Vineyard – Mendocino Chardonnay 2014 Chenoweth Ranch – Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 2014 Jenkins Ranch – Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2014 Pisoni Vineyard – Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir

Experience how different vineyard sites and grape varietals can provide backbone, structure and aromatics to create a beginning, a middle and an end. Your “mission” will be to create a blend that you enjoy and as a reward for your all hard work, you will be taking home a bottle of Chateau Ste. Michelle’s signature blend, Artist Series! Ticket price includes one bottle of Chateau Ste. Michelle Artist Series, Columbia Valley.

Since its inception of the House in 1811, Perrier-Jouët has been crafting elegant and floral wines with an emphasis on Chardonnay. Discover the universe of Champagne House Perrier-Jouët through an extensive tasting of the range of cuvees including the coveted Belle Epoque range. Tasting will focus on the multiple facets of each wine and vineyard selection from some of the best Chardonnay plots in the Côte des Blanc. Inspiration drawn from nature, the desire to infuse beauty into daily life. The values of Perrier-Jouët are fully echoed by Art Nouveau. The House and various artists have teamed up to create a series of unique works to enchant our daily lives. In 1902, Emile Gallé, one of the movement's most celebrated artists, designed a swirl of anemones wreathed in gold for the Perrier-Jouët bottle. An unusual bottle, a true homage to nature as a source of inspiration, where the swirls of the white flowers echo the floral and delicate style of the wine, and become the emblem of the House. Since then, Perrier-Jouët has continued to celebrate the marriage of arts and crafts, calling on renowned artists such as Daniel Arsham, kloi DL, Makoto Azuma and Tord Boontje, creating unique works, sublime objects on the theme of tasting champagne, but also artistic installations, as a fitting showcase for the close relationship between the House and Art Nouveau. Featured Wines: Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque 2007 Brut Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque 2006 Rosé Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque Blanc de Blancs 2004 Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut NV Perrier-Jouët Blason Rosé NV Perrier-Jouët Limited Edition Première Rosé 2007

In 1962, Castello di Monsanto was established by Fabrizio Bianchi. Located in the heart of the Chianti Classico denomination in the province of Florence, the estate is known as one of the finest jewels of the Chianti Classico zone. Bianchi worked to clear the most perfect hillside vineyard he named “Il Poggio”, which would be utilized for production of the first single vineyard reserve wine ever made in Chianti Classico. Castello di Monsanto has been sought out by Wine Spectator Magazine and has received their “Top 100” accolade twice for their flagship Chianti Classico Riserva wine. Today, Fabrizio Bianchi and his daughter Laura represent the tradition and elegance that have been associated with the estate throughout its existence. ‘Il Poggio’ was not just an innovation back in 1962: it truly represented a new vision for Chianti Classico. Ray Isle of Food and Wine Magazine pinned Laura Bianchi as one of the “7 Female Italian Winemakers You Should Know” he said, “The 500-acre Castello di Monsanto estate in Chianti Classico was the first to produce a single-vineyard cru, its renowned Il Poggio bottling. Bianchi, whose family founded the property in 1962, started helping in her family's Chianti vineyards at age seven. Today she's both the winemaker and the proprietor.” Join Laura Bianchi in a very exclusive vertical tasting of her award-winning Chianti Classico Riserva “Il Poggio” dating back to 1968. Reigning Goya Foods’ People’s Choice Award-winner for best whole roasted pig, Cindy Hutson returns to the Biltmore, Coral Gables, as she rounds up some of her fellow colleagues to take this swine-centric affair to a whole new level. This year, Goya Foods and the National Pork Board, the Official Pork Sponsor and Preferred Protein of the Festival, will delight with professional pig roasters who will develop their own pig creations and a large variety of amazingly delicious sides. They will use their secret arsenal of special spice blends to make your taste buds dance with their treatment of all-natural, farm-raised, exceptionally tender pork, and delight swine lovers with creative pig-centric tapas, served inside the Biltmore Hotel Club Ballroom. At the same time, in the beautiful Courtyard, slow roasting whole pigs will render mouth-watering meat being served straight from each chef's own caja china and other inventive devices. All chefs will compete for the coveted People’s Choice Award, and this year, professional judges will cast their Foodie Awards as well. And for the “sweet-toothers”, the Biltmore Hotel will feature its own “Sweet Zone” showcasing the creations of experienced pastry chefs and ice cream makers. All these amazing savory samplings will be accompanied by wines from Folonari, La Linda and Luigi Bosca, as well as cocktails from Pig’s Nose Scotch Whisky, Tito’s Handmade Vodka, and Zafra Rum. Up-beat tunes and live entertainment by El Tucán Cabaret & Modern Day Lounge will cap off this celebration of swine.

Help us close out SOBEWFF’s sweet 16 by dancing the night away and noshing on innovative Asian fare! For the second time, we’ve tapped good friend and James Beard Award-winning TV personality, chef, food writer and teacher, who is widely regarded as one of the most versatile, knowledgeable and “bizarre” personalities in the food world, Andrew Zimmern to host the occasion. Dance the night away to beats from live entertainment presented by Menin Hospitality, including Miami-based acoustic pop-rock artist Carly Jo Jackson, and enjoy interactive games brought to you by Ricky's. Fill up to the brim with sushi, dumplings, dim sum and a variety of other unique eats while sipping on special libations paired specially for these flavorful bites. ADA Assistance: The Festival will have a limited number of beach wheelchairs available at the Guest Services locations. Please check in directly with a Guest Services Representative for assistance. *Please note that there will be mandatory bag checks at the entrance. If you are attending, we recommend that you either do not bring a bag or only bring a very small bag. Anyone with a bag will experience a short delay to enter the event, as they will be subject to a bag check by the City of Miami Beach Police.
